Not too long ago I was blessed to be able to attend a beautiful Christian wedding! The bride, whose sister is a friend of mine who teaches at Esa Memorial School, is a member of a local Christian church. The groom is a Seventh-day Adventist living in Pokhara, the beautiful tourist city surrounded by the Annapurna mountain range. It's a beautiful place to start married life!
Did you know that according to the 2011 census, only about 1.45 percent of the population here is a Christian. (If you want to read about Christianity in Nepal, the Wikipedia article is here.)

The teachers and I had a lovely walk to the church where the wedding took place.
Yes, we navigated some narrow streets!
(Yes, this is a two way street!)
The day was gorgeous!
Look at the blue sky behind the church!
It was packed with happy people!
The bride was beautiful and the groom handsome...

The ceremony was very similar to our weddings.
After the sermon and vows, there was a prayer,
followed by several special music songs that were very enjoyable.
Don't worry, it's now time to eat!
See Mommy pointing? I'm sure she was saying, "Look, it's almost over!"
(Smile!)
It's also time for a new lifetime together!
Congratulations to the new couple!!!
May the Lord bless your marriage and new home!
As everyone lined up to go downstairs to the Fellowship Hall for the meal,
the musicians continued their lovely special musical numbers.
Here's what I saw when I looked downstairs.

Yes, the teachers from Esa Memorial School!
Behind them you can almost see the wedding party.
They were greeting people and accepting their gifts.
In front of them was the delicious buffet!
