More School Happenings

This past week was a fun week at school, so this post will be a continuation of last week's.  We were very happy to have a team of education majors come to visit us from Avondale,
our Seventh-day Adventist College of Higher Education in Australia. They were in the midst of spending three weeks visiting schools here in Nepal.

The kids had so much fun!  Actually, I'm not sure who had more fun--the "Big Kids" or the "Little Kids!"  They taught us some songs

and we taught them one.

We sang our national anthems to each other.

Then we had a P.E. time and played, and played, and played!  :)  We even learned some new games.

Then we chatted

and all too soon we had to say Goodbye!  We wish you could have stayed longer!  Good luck in your careers--we know you'll be great teachers!  Bye!

It was timely that they came the day they did, because we had other visitors that day:  a crew building our new library!  They were fast and efficient (and of course a little noisy!)!
Soon we'll be able to "move" into it!

What else happened last week?  We also had a Spelling Competition preceded by a balloon game for the little ones.  Super cute!

At first they were too polite to step on each other's balloons!
But not for long!

Next it was time for the older ones to spell!  There were three categories:  English, Science, & Nepali!  It was a hard competition.  Each team had one member from Grades 1-5.  At one point as I was walking around the tables, one of the fifth graders pointed to the first and second graders on his team and said to me, "They're not helping very much."  :)  "Did you really think they would?"  I answered.  :)  He grinned and said, "Well, I guess not!"  :)

"Boy, that's a hard one!"

"This is fun!"

"I think we know it...maybe..."

Did we get it right?
(Sorry!  I don't remember if they got that one right or not!)

And I think the boys were concentrating on this one just a little bit more than the girls were!

"Is it ever going to end Kathy Miss?"

Yes!  And the winners got a small prize.
Way to go Team!  However, everyone was a winner since we all had fun!

So now, we say Goodbye
from Esa Memorial School and we hope you have a lovely week too!

  1. Hi,

This was a fun read and it looked like everyone had a great time. I posted something on the one just before this, and I don't think that it took. It is so hard sometimes to post a comment. Well, here goes. Have a great day and lots of love, Mom
